Dr Ilana Bolingford

Ilana Bolingford is the Centre Manager for the ARC Training Centre for Microphysiological System Technology (MiPSET), where she supports the Centre’s strategic, operational and research management activities across its university and industry partnerships.

Ilana brings more than 18 years of experience in the higher education sector, with expertise spanning research management, research funding, research policy, governance, strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining MiPSET, she worked in research strategy and policy at QUT, where she co-led work to implement QUT’s commitment to responsible research assessment through the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). She previously managed the QUT Centre for Robotics, supporting a large multidisciplinary research community across its research, operational and engagement activities.

Ilana holds a PhD from UniSQ examining how Australian law academics navigate research engagement and impact, as well as degrees in law and journalism. She also works as a sessional academic in the QUT School of Law.

At MiPSET, Ilana works across the Centre and its partner institutions to support the delivery of its mission to advance microphysiological systems research, develop the next generation of researchers, and strengthen connections between research, industry, and the broader ecosystem.
