BIOGRAPHY

About Prof Alastair Stewart

Prof Alastair Stewart is Chair of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Melbourne and Deputy Director of the ARC Industrial Transformation Centre for Microphysiological Systems (MPS) Technologies.

His research focusses on drug targeting in tissue remodelling and inflammation. He is co-founder, CSO and Director of Tianli Biotech, a clinical stage fibrosis and inflammation focussed company, and co-founder/Director of Omnivitro Scientific, a company developing fluidics and biosensors to support the growing need for MPS that serve as novel approach methodologies (NAMs).

Prof Stewart is a Senior editor of the British Journal of Pharmacology. He is engaged with learned societies as immediate past President of the Asia Pacific Federation of Pharmacologists and a Director of the International Microphysiological Systems Society.
