Research Programs
Driving innovation in microphysiological systems through three interconnected research programs.
An Integrated Research Pipeline
Together, MiPSET's three research programs span the full innovation pipeline, from designing biologically advanced models, to manufacturing technologies at scale, to generating the data needed to validate and deploy them. This integrated approach positions Australia to play a leading role in the rapidly growing global microphysiological systems technology sector.
Explore Our Research Programs
MPS Design & Innovation
MiPSET is helping address this challenge by creating sophisticated human-relevant models that better capture the complexity of tissues, organs, and biological systems.
MPS Manufacturing & Scale-Up
MiPSET's Manufacturing & Scale-Up Program addresses these challenges by developing manufacturing-compatible MPS technologies and scalable production processes from the outset.
Data Integration & Analytics
MiPSET's Data Integration & Analytics Program is developing advanced sensing, imaging and analytical technologies that enable non-disruptive, continuous monitoring of living tissues and the generation of richer, more informative datasets.

for Microphysiological System Technology
MiPSET acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which our Centre operates, including the Turrbal and Yugara Peoples in Brisbane, the Whadjuk Noongar People in Perth, and the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung People of the Kulin Nation in Melbourne. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, culture, and knowledge. We acknowledge that these lands have always been places of teaching, research, innovation, and learning.
